Exciting Changes Ahead: Carillon Tower Museum Redevelopment Underway

The Carillon Tower is currently closed for the development of a new ground floor museum. Public access to upper floors is being reviewed and therefore currently restricted.

Funding of around £100,000 is being used to maximise the impact of the new museum space which will have new display boards detailing the history of the tower, its significance as the towns’ War Memorial with key stories of military personal who sacrificed their lives in the first and second world wars whose names are dedicated on the memorial.

The design plans are being considered by the Council’s planning department with work ongoing to ensure work can start soon.

Further updates on the museum development will follow through regular updates on the website.
